London Data Week 2024, from 1–7 July, brings Londoners together to shape the future of our city through the power of data. Join us…

Data is shaping our city every day: from how we work, communicate and buy goods, to insights which inform important decisions, design useful new services and deploy emerging technologies like generative AI. How our city uses, manages and designs around data is fundamentally civic, not just a technology, matter.

London Data Week 2024 (LDW24), from the London Office of Technology and Innovation (LOTI), The Alan Turing Institute and supported by the Mayor of London, is about collaboration and understanding on the use of data in our city. So this is not another industry event — LDW24 will be held across London in venues big and small — and we want you to be involved.

Links and FAQs on how to get involved can be found at the bottom of this post

Central to LDW’s mission is showcasing how data innovation can work for the benefit of everyone. In the vibrant and diverse landscape of London, LDW brings together data users from technology, finance, public services and beyond. Because there needs to be more diversity of voices in the role and impact of emerging technologies, events will include citizens and civil society groups to discuss what matters most to them.

We’re building on the success of London Data Week 2023 (read a full evaluation and run through of events here) which hosted 18 events with over 1100 participants from industry, government, academia, civil society and students.

Our values remain to

Promote a vision for data and AI that is open, collaborative and
inclusive.

Include new communities and people in meaningful conversations about data and AI

Test and learn about different public engagement methods for data and AI

Convene better spaces for collaboration between organisations that might not otherwise meet

Make friends, not enemies!

These principles of collaboration and inclusivity align with the ambitions of the Mayor of London regarding city data. Across London’s strategic plans, harnessing the power of data is essential for addressing pressing urban challenges and fostering an inclusive, thriving economy.

So I invite you to join us at this year’s London Data Week, where the promise of a smarter, more inclusive London awaits. Together, let’s shape the future of our city through the power of data…
